Mars Life

aaah, the intarweb

What a blast I had on Friday night. As far as my improv performance, I know I denied Ryan at least once, I was a little slow to catch up in the opening, and I made a couple call-out moves/unnecessary exposition. As far as a team, we could've edited a bit quicker. It was all one bitchin fun time, though. I'm excited to have so many great peeps to play with. I've now performed on the IO cabaret stage. The team, Pettus, Kerri, and I all ended up staying out until far too late and had a debaucherous time as well. What fun!

There was a bit of an unexpected move by our competition, though. I guess they found this humble little corner of the intarweb I call my own. I can only assume that they googled Stewtopia. Well, Stewtopia got handed a bunch of printouts of the Underdog pic before the show. Personally, I was excited to see someone actually read my blog.

Needless to say, the psych out technique did not sway the droves of people we had invited out to see our first show. We won the vote on a pretty big margin. I didn't watch the Mike Enriquez Experience set, but heard from a bunch of people that they were funny. Huzzah! Win-win baby!

Competitive improvisation. Hmmm... we'll try it again March 12.

Until then, more to come.

Wow, that was quick

Told ya so (clicky clicky, ma).

I swear I didn't know about this, I wrote the last entry yesterday and posted it today.

Well, this friday marks my first appearance on the improv scene to an audience. Exciting. Frightening. Inevitable.

Yup, I'm very excited I get to work with a group of such great talents. I think we manage to weave together some really neat stuff and I think an audience is exactly what we need. Should be a great time.

We’ll be up in the Cagematch at IO, going against the Mike Enriquez Experience.

Here’s another team member, and here’s his little ole stewtopia teampage.

Here’s another team member (I helped him to create and optimize the flash opener to his site).

Here’s a picture of The Mike Enriquez Experience. teeheehee...

Oh yeah, I wanted to make one prediction for the day, too. I predict that the RIAA will file some more file trading suits in the next 4 weeks. Let’s see what happens.

The sweetest thing

OK, I know, I'm awful at posting. I've been meaning to post this paltry entry since tuesday... such a slacker... tsk tsk tsk

Monday night, I arrived to Stewtopia practice a bit early. I therefore decided I wanted to have a coffee. Off I went on a search for the life-giving nectar.

Once I got to Dunkin Donuts, I decided I would also benefit from a snack, as I had had a very small dinner. I began to peruse what kind of selection was available at 9:50 on a Monday evening.

One of the trays read simply 'Blueberry'.

"What is that blueberry? Is it a blueberry scone, or something?" I said.
"Blueberry buttermilk," said the cashier.
"I'm sorry, blueberry what?" I asked, having never heard buttermilk used to describe a solid noun.
"Blueberry buttermilk," said the cashier.
"Sounds good enough to me," I excitedly said, not knowing what kind of baked good I was about to purchase.

Ladies and gentlemen, I come to you with good news. The blueberry buttermilk is perfect. It has the shape of a scone, the sweetness of a bowtie, the glaze of two donuts, and yet it is not overly soft.

Try one. I beg of you.

More to come...
